We believe ESKA is a miracle of nature and have defined our philosophy and mission based on this belief.

Nature worked years to create the best tasting water. Heres how were keeping it that way.
|
![]() The ESKA story began about 8,000 years ago, when receding glaciers carved subterranean rivers in parts of North America and Europe. Some of these rare underground formations, called eskers, still survive today, protected by a bed of clay beneath and layers of glacial rocks, gravel and sand above a natural water purification system. |
It was in one of these eskers, the St-Mathieu-Lac Berry Esker located in the remote Abitibi-Temiscaming region of Western Quebec, where we discovered one of the purest waters on earth. Water thats been filtered for up to 8,000 years. Water revered by the native Algonquins who are believed to have arrived here nearly 4,000 years ago.
Today, people who live near the source say the esker water makes their hair and skin noticeably lustrous and gives the fish from these parts an extraordinarily delicate flavour. In fact, the esker water is so pure that residents in the neighbouring town of Amos use it straight from the source for their everyday water needs. Another intriguing fact: Amos, which does not have a water treatment plant, has won awards for having the worlds best municipal water.
