ESKA and the environment.

Deep within the wilderness of a remote area of Quebec lies the St-Mathieu-Lac Berry esker, a subterranean aquifer formed thousands of years ago by shifting glaciers. It is nature's perfect sustainable water purification system and the source for ESKA water.

Protecting this natural miracle is ESKA's most important mandate. We use energy-saving machinery and recycle or re-use all materials at our plant. Keeping the esker clean is our priority, so we installed untreated hydro poles, paved our lot with cement rather than tar and lined our few roads with a geotextile mesh designed to prevent any contaminants from seeping into the earth. The provincial government also does its part: the 4.25 km2 of forest surrounding our site is protected land. We do everything we can to ensure that our water and its source remain as pure as nature intended.

And this isn't all. Learn more about how we keep it pure
