Position Information

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Injection Operator performs all tasks related to plastic injection molding on injection machines to produce high-quality bottles on our automated production lines, while complying with health and safety requirements, quality standards, and established operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the continuous operation of production equipment by removing full Gaylords and replacing them with empty ones.
• Record produced Gaylords of preforms and caps in inventory according to established procedures.
• Record produced Gaylords of preforms and caps in inventory according to established procedures.
• Unload resin.
• Supply the production equipment hoppers and ensure the proper rotation of required materials according to the production plan.
• Conduct inventory counts in the injection room.
• During preventive or corrective maintenance, equipment servicing by the Injection Technician, or equipment start-up and shutdown, assist the technician as required, including providing direct assistance or taking responsibility for operating other equipment.
• In collaboration with the Injection Technician, ensure the injection room is properly maintained, clean, and organized (1).
• Participate in investigations and analyses related to equipment or production failures.
• Ensure the proper rotation of bins and reject bags.
• Replace the Injection Technician in their duties when required.

• Prepare Gaylords used for preform and cap production, ensuring they are clean and compliant with requirements.
• Perform inspections and general maintenance of the forklift, including the battery.
• Ensure effective transfer of information between shifts (cross-shift communication), including health and safety matters, equipment status, Gaylord storage and rotation, and other relevant information.
• Ensure compliance with safe work procedures at all times, both for oneself and for colleagues.
• (1) Primary responsibility for ensuring that the floor in the area south of the injection machines (hopper area) remains free of preforms, caps, and other debris, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization in the resin transfer area. Secondary responsibility for the area north of the injection machines (production area).
• Perform any other related duties.
