Forklift, Warehouse and Loading Operator

Position information

$28.18 to $30.60 per hour, based on experience

42 hours – Full-time

Permanent Position

Day, Night, Weekend, Shift Work

Schedule: 5-5-4 rotating day/night shift or 5-5-4 night shift

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Forklift, Warehouse and Loading Operator is responsible for tasks related to the receiving and shipping of materials and products. The operator performs all shipping-related duties in accordance with quality, health, and safety requirements.

Responsabilities

  • Work with EXCS, CWAY, and Shipping Manager systems.
  • Ensure the proper operation of the automated warehouse and AGVs.
  • Supply production lines with CHEP pallets.
  • Supply production lines with raw materials as required.
  • Load and unload trailers containing finished products and raw materials, including transferring resin.
  • Inspect trailers prior to loading.
  • Remove snow from trailers as required.
  • Manage truck arrivals and departures during loading operations.
  • Maintain forklifts by charging them and adding water to battery cells as required.
  • Perform forklift inspections.
  • Process pallets through the reload system (formerly Ipoint).
  • Compact recyclable materials.
  • Load the recycling trailer as required.
  • Operate the shunt truck as required to move trailers.
  • Keep the work area clean and clear.
  • Dispose of raw materials and finished products as required.
  • Participate in the training of forklift operators.
  • Perform any other related duties within the Receiving and Shipping Department.

Requirements

  • Ability to confidently and efficiently operate computerized systems.
  • The selected candidate must meet the standard requirements of the position.
  • Successfully complete forklift and shunt truck training.
  • Successfully complete working-at-heights and safety harness training.
  • Be comfortable working at heights.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license (a probationary license is accepted).
