Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness, and overall proper functioning of the facilities. As a versatile and resourceful member of the team, the employee performs a wide range of hands-on tasks, from preventive building maintenance to general repairs. The role also provides key support to the team while remaining flexible and responsive to the company’s occasional operational needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. General Building and Site Maintenance
- Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance work across all buildings and the manufacturing site.
- Repairs and Installations: Perform a variety of general hands-on tasks, including basic carpentry, minor plumbing such as unclogging sinks, furniture assembly, and other general repairs.
- Inspections and Safety: Conduct preventive inspections of facilities and infrastructure, follow emergency response procedures, and coordinate snow removal for access areas.
- Workshop Management: Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of maintenance equipment and the maintenance workshop on a daily basis.
- Administrative Follow-Up: Accurately document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and provide the supervisor with updates on work progress.
2. Operations and Storeroom Support
- Maintenance Support: Assist the maintenance technician (electromechanic) with maintenance and operational activities as needed.
- Storeroom Coverage: Serve as the designated backup for the storekeeper during absences and run off-site errands as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in building maintenance, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work, painting, tiling, and plastering.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and CMMS software (e.g., OptiMaint).
- Languages: Functional bilingualism in French and English.
- Profile: Self-motivated and reliable, with good judgment, attention to detail, and strong hands-on skills.
- Requirements: High school diploma and a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
