Quality Control & Laboratory Technician

Position information

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician performs daily inspections and quality control activities on the production lines and manages risks throughout operations. The Laboratory Technician performs microbiological, physicochemical, and organoleptic analyses to ensure the compliance of finished products and raw materials.

Responsibilities – Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with good hygiene practices throughout the facility.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and ensure that required bottling conditions are maintained.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of the quality system and take immediate corrective action in the event of deviations.
  • Assess and manage food safety risks during high-risk maintenance activities.
  • Perform quality control activities in collaboration with Operations.
  • Participate in quality investigations.
  • Perform quality assurance activities.
  • Manage actions related to non-conforming finished products and raw materials.
  • Perform any other duties related to the Quality Department.

 

Responsibilities – Laboratory

  • Prepare and perform microbiological and chemical tests and analyses in accordance with established standardized methods.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, and samples according to established formulas.
  • Ensure compliance with good hygiene practices throughout the facility.
  • Collect samples of bottled water, drinking water, and plastic for internal and external analyses.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and quality control equipment and instruments.
  • Perform calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct inventories of laboratory products, reagents, and consumables; monitor stock levels, inventory rotation, and replenishment requirements.
  • Compile data and interpret test and analysis results.
  • Ensure the proper operation and cleanliness of the laboratories.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Requirements

  • DEC (Diploma of College Studies) or Bachelor’s degree in food processing, medical laboratory technology, dietetics, or another field related to food processing or laboratory work.
  • Relevant experience in the food industry.
